BUDDY DUGHI was born in Long Island, New York, and while in the 5th grade, moved to southern California along with his parents Rick and Linda, and sister Joni. He plays with a variety of setups including assorted Gretsch 6120 guitars, a flamed double neck Hallmark guitar custom-made by Bob Shade, and a black Mosrite (Ventures model).

He uses various amps including two 1963 Fender Bassman, a 1959 Fender Bassman, or two 25L15 Standel amps. He uses a tape delay or delay pedal and sometimes uses a Fender reverb tank.
